Our Amazing Musical Revue

on Tuesday, 30 August 2016.

On Thursday night the performance of 'The Musical Revue' was held in our gym with over 300 people in the audience.

Our students had been rehearsing very hard over the past 7 months and it definately showed on the night with every performance both amazing and entertaining. There was no sign of the nerves or lack of confidence from the first rehearsal with each student showing they had grown into Musical Performance Stars.

Kyle Broomfield was hilarious as the Master of Ceremonies and the solos by Taylor Carr, Leanne Langborne, Lyndsey Dunleavey, Yolanda Absolom, Yasmin Absolom and Cole McKenna were fenomenal. All of the leading solos were supported by an outstanding and talented cast.

The music performed by Ms Sian Clarke, Mr Paul Slizewski and students Joel Ballard, Jordan Harvard, Moana Carland with backup vocals Sara Tucker and Kate Young was brilliant.

Many in the audience expressed their admiration for the hard work the students had put in, throughly enjoying the performance.

WSC would like to acknowledge those TECH Production students whom assisted with the performance and Courtney Andrews and Daemian Tucker who worked backstage.

Finally to the following staff who volunteered their time to make the 'Musical Revue' possible. Director - Sian Clarke, Music Director - Paul Slizewski, Producer - Lauren Mozina, Choreographer - Victoria Eley, Costumes - Lauren Gates, Hair and Makeup - Tara Creek, Backstage Manager - Rachel De Prinse.

We look forward to welcoming you all to our next venture.

Great Feedback

on Wednesday, 24 August 2016.

Check out our amazing feedback from one of our Volunteers, Dearna Clune. It is wonderful to receive such positive and pleasing comments.

Dear Sally,

I have two compliments for staff and students:

1. Each Tuesday when I come in to volunteer I see many students. If there is a student standing near the office door, I don't need to open it, it is always opened for me. Students always respond when I say, "Thank you." Further to that, all around the school students smile, say hello and are everything that people believe teenagers are not. To an outsider Wallan Secondary College is full of courteous teenagers.

2. I have been watching with interest the garden project take shape each week. I was delighted to see the gabion seating that the students had installed this week. It looks absolutely FANTASTIC! When I left today, a student was shovelling gravel and he looked up. I complimented him on how great the area looked and he beamed at me and said, "Thanks Miss!" Please pass onto all involved that the concept and the work completed is a credit to them, of which they should be very proud.

Kind Regards, Dearna Clune
