On Wednesday 21st August, the VCE Hospitality students went into the city for an excursion.
We had intended going to the Queen Victorian Market, but when we arrived we quickly found out that it was closed on Wednesdays. Instead we went to the David Jones Food Hall.
The Unit 3/4 students had an assignment on food produce. Once the students finished their assignment, we all went for a walk around the city and looked at different food stores. We walked into a shop called Donnini’s. It’s a shop that sells fresh gourmet Italian homemade pasta and sauces. They had a variety of types and flavours of pasta available. We also went into Brunetti’s and had a look at the setup of the shop/restaurant. They had an assortment of coffees and sweets available, and you can either have takeaway or in the shop. Some of the students bought some of the sweets and gelato.
For lunch we went to Borsari Ristorante, an Italian pasta restaurant. All of the students had to do a restaurant report, so we all did that while we waited for our food to be served. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves throughout the day. Thank you to Mrs Lasslett and Adrian for driving us.
