Knit for Charity is off to a fantastic start in Term 3, with great progress being made by our students and staff, some of whom have picked up the skill for the very first time. They are well on their way to completing their very first knitted square. We have also been blown away by the generous donations of both wool and finished squares from the Colleges' students, parents, staff and the wider community.
We are priviledged to be joined by Cathy and Edna from Mitchell Shire's 'Circle of Friends', who are volunteering their time to help with the Year 9 Textiles Knitting Program as well as the Knit for Charity lunchtime sessions. The class consists of both male and female students who are enthusiastically using their newly developed knitting skills to contribute their own squares.
Knit for Charity will continue to run until the middle of Term 4. Anyone interested in joining this group is encouraged to come along to the Thursday lunchtime sessions or knit or crochet 20cm squares in their own time. They can be dropped off to Miss Gates on completion.
We have approximately 30 squares completed at this time and will be documenting our progress and square tally on this website. Please remember to check back soon.
