From The Principal - March 2015

Thursday, 26 March 2015

What a great term it has been here at Wallan Secondary College. Our Year 7 students have settled into Secondary School life and are certainly becoming part of our school community. The expectations that we have of them, and the engaging classes that they have taken part in, are all new and exciting.

We have all participated in number of student run activities this term which has added to the positive culture and connectedness of our staff and students. From the Polynesian Student Performance during positive week, Casual Clothes Day – to raise money for our Community Service Tour to Cambodia in June, Odd Sock Day to take a stance against bullying and finally Yellow for Seth Day. There is always something fun and exciting happening at Wallan Secondary College.

As a staff team we thank our parent body for their support, whether it be as parent members of College Council, supporting our student management team or as volunteers on excursions or other school activities. Parent connection with our school and taking a part in our many activities is important to the lives of our young people.

Next term brings new challenges for us all; the winter cold of windy Wallan, our first Community Service Tour to Cambodia, End of Semester Exams, Year 10 Work Experience and much, much more.

To our College community, I wish you all a safe holiday and an Easter period full of family fun and lots of chocolate!

To our staff – who every day work so hard to improve the outcomes of our students, thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Happy Easter and safe holidays.
