Coles in Wallan continues to provide financial assistance to the Breakfast Club at Wallan Secondary College. With their support, we have been able to provide even more fresh fruit to our students- just in time for summer! Students are also provided with toast, fresh fruit, milo, juice and take away snacks within a safe and welcoming environment.
Coles Manager Neal Zschech wrote about his experience at our Breakfast Club stating;
I was blown away by the organisation, the enthusiasm of the team, and the reaction from the students. I had no idea that this "Club" was so important to a large number of people. As a parent of three teenage children myself, I am a firm believer that breakfast is a key part of a child's day. We all know that you cannot concentrate on an empty stomach, and any student going to class hungry, would have a real challenge to learn successfully. This is why I believe something like the "Breakfast Club" is a fantastic initiative from WSC...
The Breakfast Club has been discussed by Coles at a state level due to the success of their partnership with Wallan Secondary College. Neal went on to say, "[there is] excited debate around what could be done on a similar level in others areas of Victoria."
