On 9th December Grade 6 students from all around Victoria went to their secondary schools. Nine students from Upper Plenty went to Wallan Secondary College for the statewide Orientation Day.
There are around 200 new Year Sevens that will be starting at Wallan in 2015. We all met on the green area and waited to be escorted into the gymnasium to the meet the teachers and the old Year Sevens that would be showing us around the school and helping us in the classes that we had.
We enjoyed our day at Wallan SC. We got to meet new teachers, including our home group teacher (who we believe is awesome). We used the day as if it was actually a real high school day. We did many subjects including library, social media, art, PE and food tech.
The way we were split into home groups was simple. We had at least two people from each school in a class, unless we came from our school alone. But, that was no problem because everyone was happy to be there and as eager as each other to make new friends.
As well as learning, we were able to have a tour of the school and see the different classroom. We had a great time learning about the different aspects of the secondary school and the students it has inside it.
All up, it was a fun new learning experience and we can't wait to go to high school next year!
