The Victorian Education Department and College Council have approved and endorsed a Professional Practice Day for Staff to be held on Tuesday 21/06/2022. Please note that student attendance is not required on this day.

On Thursday 02.06.22 our entire cohort were treated to a presentation by Scott Darlow as part of Reconciliation Week. Scott is a 'First Nations' person and has toured nationally, headlining his own shows and also supporting Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Jon Stevens, Eskimo Joe and many more.
This time it was Wallan Secondary students experiencing all things trades with a visit to the CFMEU training and education centre in Port Melbourne.
As part of Positive Week, the student leadership team decided to explore different foods from around the world.
We are fortunate to have the Doctors in Secondary Schools program starting at Wallan Secondary College. The doctor will visit once a fortnight (Thursday) commencing on 16th June, 2022.

Ms Leffley's, Year 10 Health and PE class showed off their boxing skills in a training clinic on Thursday.
On Wednesday our Year 9 students took park in a Career Expo at the College. The purpose of this event was for students to meet with potential employers with the hope to make contact for work experience, apprenticeships and part-time work.

Last Week our Hospitality Students went to William Angliss to complete a certificated coffee course. They also went on a tour of the establishment and saw the patisserie and bakery kitchens and the aviation wing.
On Friday, WSC held our Explosion Colour Fun Run to raise money for Dolly's Dream as part of 'Do It For Dolly Day!'
Dear parents and carers With borders opening and the arrival of colder weather, cases of influenza (the flu) are increasing throughout Victoria. Our community is at risk of higher rates of students and staff affected by the flu or COVID-19 this season.
A reminder that our Colour Explosion Fun Run is being held this Friday during session 4! Students need parental permission via COMPASS and pay their entry fee of $5.00 All funds raised will go to Dolly's Dream. On Friday, students who are participating need to wear a white shirt and sports shorts.
Our Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday 5th May, on the WSC Oval. Students are required to dress in their house colours, bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle.
Our thanks to our College Captains; Emily Bridges, Ned Munro, Zarghuna Anjum and Summer Hanna, who represented our staff and students at the Wallan ANZAC March and Service this morning.
We will be holding college tours on Thursday 5th May at 4:30pm, 5:00pm and 5:30 for our 2023 Year 7's. Parents/Carers do not have to book to attend, just met at the flag pole in the front of the College at any of those times to join the tour. We look forward to meeting you.

On the 6th of April 2022, we as representatives of the students at Wallan Secondary College attended the Melbourne Legacy’s 90th ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony held at The Shrine of Remembrance.
Yesterday our VCAL and Year 10 Environmental Studies Students participated in a group planting and frog watch activity at Wallan Creek, Hatfield Park.
