Term 3 Assembly

We held our Term 3, full school assembly last week.
It was an opportunity to welcome Ms Loterzo and Mr McDonald to their new roles as Acting Junior School Assistant Principal and Ms Gorham and Mr Prowd to the Acting Junior School Engagement and Wellbeing position.

We also celebrated the outstanding hard work of some of our students who have received a 4.8 and above for their GPA 🥳. Fantastic effort!
Mr Ritchie spoke about the importance of school attendance, with statistics showing Australian students miss an average of between 12 and 15 days per schoolyear, that adds up to a year’s lost schooling over the school-life of a child.
It sounds simple, but it’s true. The more time kids spend at school, the more likely they are to experience school success.
According to a report from the Victorian Auditor General, students who are regularly absent from school are at the greatest risk of dropping out of school early, and of experiencing long-term unemployment.
Students were reminded that "It's not okay to be away."
Our College Captains and Prefects spoke about the great things happening during Positive Week and Science Week.
Finally, Ms Cahill, shared the 'Share Dignity 2023' campaign, and students were encouraged to donate feminine hygiene products for those in our community who were struggling to afford such products.
