Year 8s Visit LaTrobe University

Some of our Year 8 students had the opportunity to visit La Trobe University to participate in a practical activity about how to make shampoo.

 

 

They were able to experience a university science lab where they measured various chemicals before using a magnetic mixer to combine them. At the end of the practical lab, they got to take their shampoo home with them.There was also an opportunity to be involved in a News Broadcast. Students moved between roles of running the teleprompter, overseeing which cameras are live and being behind the desk as the News Broadcaster. At the end of the media lab, they were able to take home a recording of their News Broadcast.

To finish the day, our students participated in a race around the university to explore the various buildings, landmarks and sheer size of the area with prizes being given at the end.

The students were highly engaged and represented the college in an outstanding manner.
