Today, our College held a moving ANZAC Day Service attended by our Year 11 and 12 students.
The ceremony was led with dignity and respect by our student leaders — Captains; Jared and Isabel, Vice Captains; Brooklyn, Naomi, and Prefects; Cooper, James, and Rebecca — who each spoke beautifully, sharing powerful stories of those who served.
Prefect; Pratham gave a heartfelt recitation of The Ode, while Prefects; Anthony and Vedant, carried out the role of flag bearers with honour. Prefect; Shelby and Vice Captain; Zac laid the wreath on behalf of the staff and students, paying tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
As we paused to reflect, we were reminded of the enduring qualities of past generations: courage, discipline, self-sacrifice, self-reliance, resourcefulness, and mateship. Though the number of surviving ANZACs grows smaller, the spirit they left us — forged on battlefields long ago — lives on.
Today, members of the Australian Defence Force continue this legacy, both at home and abroad, upholding the values and freedoms that define our nation. Lest we forget.
