At Wallan Secondary College all students are encouraged to develop their leadership skills in order to support fellow students and to benefit the wider community.
Opportunities to develop these qualities are provided through a range of learning experiences, both in their everyday school life and in targeted leadership programs.
There are many student roles throughout the year levels that offer support and leadership for other students in the school community, through house activities and specific fields of interest. Every student is encouraged to build their own sense of themselves as leaders.
All student leaders at Wallan Secondary College should demonstrate and model our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
Both College Captains and College Prefects are expected to take an active role in all aspects of the school community and work with others to achieve the best possible outcomes. They must be approachable, reliable and trustworthy, and their duties involve communication with staff and students, public speaking at assemblies and school events.
College Captains and College Prefects must be involved in a range of co-curricular activities and be positive role models for all students with regards to behaviour and presentation.
