We were thrilled to welcome Ben Roarty, ex-Melbourne Storm and Premiership player (1998-2001), to our college recently. Ben spoke to our students about his incredible career with the Storm, the lessons he learned on and off the field, and life after football.
He is the Founder and Vice President of the charity organisation Camp 4 Cancer — a registered charity formed and run by a group of close friends and volunteers. Camp 4 Cancer’s mission is to raise much-needed funds for cancer research, particularly for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and other research branches focused on finding cures and preventatives for cancer. The charity also supports Wellness Centres that provide positive support to cancer patients throughout their journey.
Ben’s key message to our students? The importance of behaving yourself at school and putting in the hard work to achieve your goals—no matter what they are. His journey is a powerful reminder that dedication, discipline, and perseverance open doors to success.
Thank you, Ben, for inspiring our students and sharing your story!
