Introducing Ms. Heyns

We’re excited to welcome a new member, Ms Michaela Heyns to our teaching team! With a strong background in literacy intervention, their journey into teaching was inspired by a genuine enjoyment of working with young people and supporting their growth. 

This passion naturally led her into the classroom, where she found a particular love for teaching Psychology, especially with senior year levels, drawing on her academic background and deep interest in the subject.

Outside of school, Ms Heyns enjoys making the most of what Melbourne has to offer. While she loves a mix of weekend activities, heading to the beach has recently become a favourite way to relax and recharge.

One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching for her has been witnessing students grow in confidence—seeing that moment when students feel proud of their work and realise their own potential is something that truly stands out.

With a degree in Psychology, this long-standing passion continues to shape and strengthen her work as an educator, and we’re thrilled to have Ms Heyns bringing that knowledge and enthusiasm to our school community.
