Celebrating Our Amazing Students – Congratulations, Ava!

We absolutely love hearing about the incredible things our students are doing beyond the classroom, and Ava's story is one that truly deserves to be celebrated.

 

 

Congratulations to Ava, who has been named a recipient of the 2026 Young Volunteer of the Year Award through Club Mandalay in recognition of her dedication, generosity and outstanding contribution to the community.Ava's commitment to helping others is inspiring.
Every weekend she volunteers with the Salvation Army, always looking for ways to support those in need. She has also dedicated her time to making possum pouches for the 2026 bushfire relief efforts and crocheting toys for children in the paediatric and NICU units at Austin Health and Northern Health.

Ava was recently invited to attend the Volunteer of the Year Presentation Night, where she proudly accepted her award from the Committee.

At Wallan Secondary College, we are incredibly proud of students like Ava, who demonstrate kindness, compassion and selflessness through their actions. It is wonderful to see our young people making such a positive difference in the lives of others and within the wider community.

Congratulations, Ava! Thank you for being such an outstanding role model. Your generosity and community spirit are an inspiration to us all.
