VET Drone Course 2027
We were delighted to welcome John Davidson, Chief Pilot and Director of Field Master Systems, to Wallan Secondary College.
John has had an inspiring career journey transitioning from being a Virgin Australia pilot after the COVID-19 pandemic to establishing his own successful drone technology business. Combining his passion for aviation with his interests in agriculture and the environment, John has built a career focused on helping industries embrace innovative drone technology.
During his presentation, students gained an insight into the many real-world applications of drones across industries such as agriculture, environmental management, surveying, emergency services and infrastructure. They also learned about the exciting career opportunities available in this rapidly growing field and the skills required to succeed.
John's visit also highlighted the exciting new VET Drones course that will be offered at Wallan Secondary College in 2027, giving students the opportunity to explore an emerging industry and develop practical, industry-relevant skills.
A big thank you to John for generously sharing his knowledge, experiences and passion with our students. We look forward to seeing many students take advantage of this exciting new pathway in 2027.
